On Saturday a group of men in Idaho shoved Dr. Teresa Borrenpohl to the ground and forcibly dragged her out of a town hall. Why? Because she was there advocating for things like reproductive rights and Medicaid.
The Coeur d’Alene prosecutor is dismissing charges against Borrenpohl and the business licence for the private security company had been revoked for violating city ordinances! Thank you for helping this story reach a wider audience, which no doubt has added pressure to decision-makers to address this blatant trampling of rights.
In our current climate, I imagine lawsuits are the only way to hold men like this accountable. I'm sick to my stomach to see and read about this. I wish the best for Dr. Borrenpohl moving forward and thank her for standing up for democracy.
I am so outraged! Not only were her First Amendment rights violated, she was physically abused. That sheriff needs to be fired immediately and arrested. And those private security guys should be arrested too. How dare they?
This is absolutely disgusting. They ziptied her?? And the sheriff just encouraged strange unidentified men to drag her out of there?? He needs to lose his job.
So I've been trying to find out what did she actually do to warrant this ejection treatment. It's kind of funny to me actually, that folks could be so one sided as to not wonder at this. Obviously there's plenty of video of the guys trying to oust her, but nothing as in zero about what she did before that. Honestly it makes supporting her look kind of ridiculous. I saw one newspaper story that mentioned that she was heckling. How much heckling are you allowed to do at a meeting before all the people who have taken the time to attend the meeting get sick of the disruption and somebody has to do something about it? I'm just curious. I have absolutely no idea what this meeting was about, and I would like to know exactly what happened to inspire this eviction of her from the auditorium.
Also, if you wanna go down a rabbit hole, feel free to google the KRCC and their part in actively working to put more and more extreme candidates into public and elected positions. That’s been in the works for years.

Here’s a great piece that’s a couple years old about North Idaho’s slide into extremism. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/far-right-idaho_n_628277e2e4b0c84db7282bd6
