This quick and easy dessert snack (yes, dessert snack is a category of food) is called puppy chow because of its somewhat unfortunate resemblance to dog food. Ahem, please don’t feed it to your dog, it’s for humans only! As a child who grew up in the Midwest in the 1990’s, puppy chow was pretty much ubiquitous. I’m reasonably sure that every school party or holiday gathering I went to as a kid had at least two variations of puppy chow available. It typically has the same base: chex cereal, peanut butter, chocolate, and powdered sugar. This version is made with white chocolate, cinnamon chex, and some reese’s pieces for texture!
